100% coton and vegan, hand woven fabric. The cloth is soak in a dye bath of n’gallama (Anogeissus leiocarpa)tree-leaves ( cold process) or M’peku Lannea velutina tree bark (hot process ) to give it a natural color from light red or mustard color. The more the process is repeated the better the color get. Then the river mud is use to design the cloth or change the entire fabric to color black. The magic began when the dyed fabric from either trees come into contact with the river mud, it automatically change to black due some natural particles in the mud.This textile is best if dry clean, hand clean or low cycle of 30•. Great for any project from interior designing to fashion and jewelry making. All made in Mali. No harsh chemical use in any of our collections.
